There are too many of them. I alone have stayed behind in a town in front of the front. I have retreated to the roof of a skyscraper, the topmost peak. Swallow’s nest is what we snipers call it. I am alone, with 1000 rounds of ammunition. 360 degree field of view. Union soldiers attack the city. They circle the skyscraper like bears. Big, heavy bears.
